I have written about this before, but nothing has changed, so I need to get this off my chest again. Hopefully, I will give you information you can act on, and that you will want to do so. Suggestions welcome.
Folks, you are probably the recipient (victim) of a barrage of spam and/or robocalls this election season. They want your vote and they want money. Conservative values respect the sanctity of the home. Real conservatives don’t invade. Are there any real conservatives left?
I’ve been fighting this battle for years. I used to get multiple robocalls during election season. I never gave my phone number to anyone. The only way they could get it would be to go behind my back and get it from a people search site. People search sites are a gross violation of my rights as well.
Aside: I get a monthly postcard from some real estate agent who wants to buy my home for half of what Zillow says it’s worth. They publish my address in plain sight. My address is PRIVATE information. Part of my security is people not knowing how to find me. It makes me feel a sense of outrage. Arizona is a closed records state. That SHOULD include information about a person’s homestead. It should also include exemption from property tax for the homestead, at least of the elderly.
Back to topic. I resorted to PAYING Incogni to get the people search sites to delete my information. Many sites have complied. I shouldn’t have to pay to get people to stop stealing my private information and selling it. But it’s worth it. I haven’t had a single robocall from a political or charitable group in months. The silence is golden.
Now the problem is being added to email lists without my knowledge or permission. I got added to dailygopnews. I have no idea how that happened. I DID fall for fake “polls” a couple of times, where they are only trying to determine if you’d make a good mark. They want to know who to hit up for money. That probably meant my email address got circulated ubiquitously. Dailgopnews has a splash page, but no real web site. They do not honor unsubscribe requests. They are in violation of the Can Spam Act. I have tried repeatedly to unsubscribe. I have tried to locate a way to reach them online with a message. I have gone to WhoIs to see if there is a way to email the webmaster. I have asked numerous SENDERS who use this email list how they got my email address, and how I can actually unsubscribe. The only one who ever responded was Hillsdale College. They apparently disengaged themselves from dailygopnews, but took no further action, and so far have not made it possible for me to unsubscribe. I will contact them again.
To those in the know, we are aware that Hillsdale College is one of only TWO truly conservative colleges in the United States. They take no government money. Students are not even allowed to accept Pell grants. They teach multiple courses on the Constitution and other important topics for those who love freedom. These courses are FREE online.
I get up to six emails A DAY from dailygopnews. There are a couple of others like that, but this one is the worst. I always send these emails to my spam folder. My email service keeps a record of actual originators, so that those emails never get through again. Some of the emails from dailygopnews get into my spam folder for me to approve deletion. Some do not. What does that tell us? What it tells us is that dailygopnews is not using the same servers consistently to send out email. Spammers steal the resources of different servers to avoid being cut off by spam filters. Is dailygopnews doing this? It sure looks like it. Which means THEY KNOW THEY ARE SPAMMING AND THEY DON’T CARE.
One unsubscribe service turned up for six separate email lists in one day, so I hunted them down and left them an email telling them I wanted to be universally unsubscribed. Surprisingly, they responded and said they would do so. But the very next day, I got six NEW emails NOT from them, with no clear way to reach the root culprit.
They all want money. I don’t have money to spare, and I don’t contribute to political campaigns, or to charities I haven’t thoroughly investigated. They may get responses, but it won’t be from me. They should advertise through the email list where they got your email address, and you can then respond if you choose to do so.
Folks, a conservative value is the sanctity of the home. Spamming is a despicable practice which is actually illegal. It might not technically be invasion of the home, but it uses up limited resources and causes headaches for recipients. In fact, spam is responsible for over half of internet traffic. The next time your access is slow, blame spammers. Aside from that, a phone call is really an invasion, especially if it is not a real person you can tell to take you off their list. What has happened to conservatism that causes people to act like this? I have no idea.
Liberals, on the other hand, are fair game. If you don’t like people doing this to you, then you are welcome to join the fight, but you’ll have to fight your own battles.
If you are someone who thinks as I do, please fight back. Do everything you can to discourage this practice. I’ve spelled out the details. It’s up to you if you want to help. In the meantime, I will keep fighting.
Thank you for reading.

I have the same issue. I keep clicking on “spam risk” to report and delete, but nothing happens. Their mails go to junk. I shall try to block all of them. Recently AT&T messaged me that there it was an illegal download of my data, some call and messaging numbers, but not the content… Now you imagine what would happen with digital ID and digital whatever they want..
I do not shop online, I do not give my phone to stores, I do not have medical records, I do not want discounts and anything from anyone but I still get calls ( even registering my phone on donotcalll list) and tons of emails in my spam folder. And yes, cards from real estate agents as well. There is no way to avoid them. Insurance companies buy datas to call Medicare beneficiaries and mess up their plans at every open enrollment period. So do the federal contractors with ACA. And plenty of other companies. Some calls are coming from US some from other countries… Regarding GOP I don’t know what to say. What sane person would provide their credit cards info and contribute ?
The law provides a penalty of thousands of dollars for repeated spamming after your request to be removed. Usually, we don't bother, but this especially nasty one needs to be made to pay. Get a lawyer to help who has had success with this.
